Notes:
He enlisted in the Worcester regiment (regt number 24447) (apparently at the same time as his brother Frederick: regt. number 24446) and later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps (regt number 11063).

(An analysis of attestation dates for soldiers with close regimental number suggest that he attested in July-September 1915 -- i.e. not in the first wave of eager volunteers but in the wake of the National Registration Act and before the Derby Scheme and later conscription.)

He had attained the rank of L/Cpl by 1917 and ended the war as a corporal.

I have not been able to locate a service record or pension application for him.13,14,15
